About Grail Quest

Your quest continues on 4th September 2021

Grail Quest is a ye olde medieval themed obstacle course race based in Somerset, taking place over 8km with 50+ obstacles. You’ll have to attack “Battle Of Wessex” with the courage of a medieval Knight, conquer “Agincourt” and trample, crawl or swim through the trenches. We change the course and obstacles every year, to keep you returning Knights guessing.

Your quest starts on 4th September 2021 with an awesome new medal, new obstacles, new stash, more water and more mud. An improved viewing area for friends and family and a larger medieval village than ever with axe throwing, archery, medieval weaponry displays, wholesome food and plenty of mead. Guaranteed to keep spectators entertained whilst their Knights are in battle, and all Knights once they’ve conquered their Grail.

Do you wonder what obstacles lay before thou? All will be revealed when your quest for success begins. To conquer Grail Quest will take much tactical planning, training and mental fortitude – will thou be victorious in the field of battle?

Plankety plank – team work makes the dream work on this one. It was our finish line in 2018, where will you find it in 2019??

Exiting the ‘Battle of Wessex’ through the final tunnel, you’ll find plenty of mud and muck to crawl through.

Where Will You Find The Quest

Location & Directions

Your Quest begins at Upton Bridge Farm, Long Sutton, Langport, Somerset, TA10 9NJ.

Travelling by horse drawn cart:

If approaching from along the A303 from either East or West, turn off at Podimore roundabout. Take the turnoff signposted to Langport then continue along the A372 for approximately 9 miles, through the village of Long Sutton, your quest will begin at a signposted farm on the right.

If traveling along the M5, turn off at Taunton J25, take the A358 signposted to Yeovil. Continue for 4 miles until the left turn on the A378, signposted Langport. Continue for 15 miles until the market village of Langport. At the end of the high street, on a hard left turn, take the right up the hill. Continue, at the T-junction bear right, signposted Wincanton. Continue for 4 miles and the Grail Quest will begin on your right.

Travel by steam carriage:

The nearest train stations are Yeovil Junction/Yeovil Penmill or Castle Cary, dependant on your access to lines. All are a 15 minute drive from the start of your quest.

Travelling by foot:

There are buses locally to the village of Long Sutton, they stop at the village green and from there the farm is a 1 mile walk. They also stop at the Halfway House, Pitney, which is also a miles walk.
